So far I haven't had the problems others have had. It works. The power adapter/plug buzzes when turned on, so that's an issue, but there's no flickering, smell, or heat. The lamp itself never gets hot. Although after a few weeks of use I had a problem because it was very boring. . But I held down the power button and found that there is a brightness option. Hold down the power button to see. I read the instructions when I got them. So if that information was there, my brain couldn't remember it. Great for the table, I use it for hobbies. It lights up well. It is nice that you can choose between white, yellow and mixed for the type of light.
