I paid almost $400 for a full size Ironman triathlon watch with digital heart rate and chest strap. I have owned Timex watches for most of my life, both business and sport watches. I had numerous issues with the strap and heart rate monitor. When I came back to replace the strap and monitor I was told the watch had been discontinued by Timex and was no longer being made. The support rep said to check with Revain and eBay, which I did. Nothing. Nada. Zippo. Tried to call Polar to see if their strap would work and they knew the frequency was the same. I called back, contacted a Timex support representative and spent almost half an hour getting to a person who said I could send the watch and strap back to Timex and they would fix it. God. Which part of the sentence "I need a new chest strap and a new heart rate monitor" do you not understand? It's not even on the radar screen compared to real-world issues, but be aware that if you're paying $400 for a Timex watch, you might consider it a one-time use as it can't help you if you need anything from them in the future. Buyer Warning.
