I bought an older used Gold Weber kettle that didn't have hooked handles. I've tried a wire hook but it doesn't allow the kettle lid to sit flush, which is a problem when you're smoking and trying to regulate the temperature. These pens filled the bill. I no longer have to search for barbecue accessories because I forgot where I put them! Installation was very easy, only one screw had to be tightened. When it does, the grip looks a little stronger and they'll be nice and tight. One thing to note is the color of these pens. My teapot had light gray handles. So those handles didn't match the light gray on my lid. Luckily my Weber mini charcoal lighter had the same dark gray handle and I simply swapped it out for the handle on the kettle lid.
