I bought these to throw away my old bandages when I change them during the day. All body fluids, including blood, urine, saliva, feces, and serous secretions, can cause and transmit bacterial, viral, or fungal infections. It is up to all of us to prevent the spread of infection outside of the community. Many people don't know they are carriers of certain bacteria like MRSA, Pseudomonas or even HIV because they don't have any symptoms. Please note that MRSA and tons of other bacteria are everywhere - in your doctor's offices, hospitals, clinics, grocery stores - everywhere! So when you change bandages at home, be sure to put the old bandages in one of those red bags, then put the red bag in another trash bag and throw it in the trash. Technically all doctor's offices, bars, restaurants, hospitals etc should have a red bag in their bins for people to throw in their used feminine hygiene products - tampons and cotex, condoms etc. I haven't seen a single red bag in any of the 4 restrooms at the medical staff and it's a shame! They have to use and pay for an outside facility to collect these red bags for alternative disposal and are often reluctant to spend the extra money. Thick and impermeable to bodily fluids, these red pouches are a must have for all our first responders. Thanks for the sale
