Image quality is good but everything else is unreliable. I bought this as a mini dock for my Chromebook. The picture is expected. HDMI and VGA - the same picture (as described, no problems), but other devices practically do not work. USB is initializing and after a while (sometimes after 30 seconds, sometimes after 10 minutes) it stops working. Connecting the same devices directly to my laptop works without any problems. I'm having the same problem on my Windows work machine. it is definitely a defective device. The cable is ridiculous, the use case is very small, with connectors on either side of this device, the cable is only a few inches long, and if you have something plugged into the USB or audio port, the cables go straight to you laptop and even the relatively thin USB - the cable cannot bend without pressure on the connectors. and if your laptop isn't standing directly on the table AND there is enough space to stand right next to it then it will be hanging off the side of the table or your lap or whatever which puts a lot of pressure on the cheap plugs and USB Connection. .I had to spend a few dollars more for a different design from a different company.
