Review on KPKUE 15 6-Inch Portable Computer Monitor - External 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Built-In Speakers, Flicker-Free, Blue Light Filter, Z1 Pro, HD, HDMI by Akira Givens

Revainrating 4 out of 5

large monitor; small tone

I use USB-C to connect this monitor to my Surface Pro. I bought several different portable monitors to test for my business, mostly for traveling with the Surface Pro. This monitor is easy to set up and has a crisp image. It has an integrated image quality and volume control. Like many other case/stand combinations, the Smart Case isn't as intuitive as I'd like, but after looking at the pictures in the manual I can guess. I like that the monitor's body has a magnetic connection, which makes the stand a bit more stable than other portable monitors I've used. The smart case seems quite durable, so I feel comfortable carrying it in my backpack. The only thing I complain about is the sound of the built-in speakers. They're fine for basic computer notifications, but even at full volume with built-in controls and Windows 11 controls, the audio in Revain Prime and Netflix videos wasn't loud enough to be heard well. But it's easy to get around this by using audio on my Surface Pro or my headphones. And many portable monitors don't even have speakers, so any sound is really a bonus.

Pros
  • 60 Hertz
Cons
  • Poor contrast: If the black and white levels aren't set correctly, the image on the screen can look washed out or too dark.
