I've always liked burlap - I don't know why. Maybe because of the three-legged races when I was a kid in school - who knows. These bags are definitely a step up from canvas bags. This is a thinner thread, but it still retains the appearance of burlap (to a lesser extent). These bags do not smell and are made of a much thinner and softer material. Spring tops are also very good. The possible uses of these bags are almost unlimited. I have a feeling that my wife will take the most for gifts. I can only recommend them - they are good.
