It was cool. before it broke

I bought it at the end of 2014 and suddenly this week it started making crackling noises and then died. And the warranty on their Elite series is only 3 years, so now that's a really expensive piece of paper. All other powered devices in that particular row of outlets in my house were fine, even those that weren't plugged into surge protectors. So, under normal operating conditions, it definitely fails. It's frustrating to buy such an expensive product only to have it fail for no apparent…

Worth it, good for in-line AC

Replaced our Adcom ACE-515 in-line AC that was over 20 years old because it was obsolete and we needed more outlets. I showed my wife how to turn it on and off and later that evening when she was watching CSI NY she remarked that the picture was much sharper and the colors better. She also mentioned that our surround sound system sounded much cleaner and "broader". This happened without my request. And I totally agree. Cleaner energy with reserves for peak demand has definitely greatly improved

Bought for music and protection

Purchased primarily to protect/enhance the sound of my downstairs system, very basic Peachtree DAC/amp, Peachtree desktop speakers, high quality Oppo unit for all CD formats . First of all, I immediately noticed a new purity in the music, it sounded like it was "jumping" out of the speakers, especially the bass and mids. But all recordings had a quieter bottom, and less volume was required to get the same amount of sound. Really revitalized the system, surprisingly. I will report on durability…

Good product! I doubted it would.

great product! I doubted it would have any audible meaning and was very glad to be wrong. There seems to be a lot more dynamic and control. Tools are easier to distinguish in a crowd. While it doesn't sound like an audiophile D-Bag, I like it because: - It has sacrifice-free surge protection. This means it dissipates electrical surges with heat, allowing it to withstand multiple surges. - But what really makes it better than other surge protectors / power conditioners is that it has a…

Wanted to love it in Power Accessories

Based on the reviews I wanted to love this voltage stabilizer but in reality it is a surge protector with an overpriced and functionally very outdated design. On a positive note, the 4 high current outputs deliver very clean performance as measured by a Greenwave EMI broadband energy meter. But the remaining 4 AV outputs and 4 VIDEO outputs have twice the noise level of the socket to which the device is connected. The whole purpose of the device was to optimize the power driving the AV…

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Not everything fits

The Furman Elite PF (Power Factor) air conditioner is a very high quality unit. Out of the box, the device looks and feels like a professional device. From the glowing blue "everything is OK” light to the hospital-grade 15A AC outlets on the back of the Furman Elite-15, you'll feel instantly reassured. Both my wife and I noticed a significant improvement in brightness, blacks and overall picture contrast on the Panasonic 65-inch Viera Plasma HDTV. That may be down to the Black Magic Power…

Exceeds expectations

A few years ago my audio consultant told me that I needed a voltage regulator and that I could hear a difference in my audio system. I was skeptical then, and I was still skeptical when I revisited the concept recently. My audio/video system has a total of 14 (!) devices that require power and I was looking for a way to tidy up the tangled power cords. I was also intrigued by the idea of a more sophisticated (and hopefully reliable) surge protector. In the end, I decided it was worth the…

Excellent home theater protection, but.

All in all an excellent product, not necessarily the best as you can still choose the Furman Reference Series or PS Audio Power Conditioner but these things cost thousands of dollars and you don't need them for home theater. Setting (redundant). They are well suited for high-end audio systems. This is comparable to the Panamax brand at a similar price. Some buyers found that this did nothing in terms of audio or visual clarity, but for some it did. If your PSU is already clean (at the time of…

Lots of little surprises in the sound quality

In the last two months I have upgraded the stereo system in my living room to escape the audiophile hype and its overpriced prices. Once or twice in that process I thought I'd achieved my goal and then found I could do better. Good deal! But I remained skeptical about air conditioning. I didn't have any noticeable noise issues and the background noise seemed quiet. What could Fuhrman do to justify spending more than $600 including taxes? Two days before his arrival, I listened to several CDs…
