I definitely like the idea of sliding doors for kids. We were hoping to find one that would hold a certain door open. That would be ideal, but the area we wanted to install it in isn't strong enough to hold the gear. We have heavy wood paneling in this old house, but the light pine doesn't hold up in our warehouse. Please note this before ordering. At the same time, these gates will be installed in my son's house, where a new child will soon appear. These are high quality doors that should withstand normal use. If you have an animal that jumps or a toddler that starts running, you can take a pass. It should be used for children between the ages of six and twenty-four months. Installation is easy for an experienced person who works with tools regularly. If not, you may need help as well as additional tools. The tools needed are not listed, but it would be better to have a set of tools on hand. The screws are quite long and trying to install them with a screwdriver will be a difficult task at best. The guide is very good with step by step instructions and pictures I appreciate. Quality gates for children and pets, but only for those experienced in installation.
