Review on 🎥 Vidpro MH-430 Motorized Pan & Tilt Gimbal Head – Complete Set with Joystick, Cables, Adapter, Carrying Case – Remote Control for DSLR Camcorder Video Equipment by Roberto Manzer

A solid choice for live performance on a budget.

I bought this device to use in a 3 camera webcast of minor league hockey games. In some smaller locations it is difficult to position the camera high in the middle of the ice without having to shoot through the safety net. As a workaround, my crew installed a VidPro MH-430 on an 8ft jib crane and placed it at ice level in the secretary's box. This allowed us to raise the camera above the glass to get a good view of the movement, while moving up and down on the ice. The Vidpro MH-430 engine was fast enough to track high-speed hockey action. Our cameraman used a VidPro MH-430 joystick remote, a LANC zoom remote and a 16” monitor to control a Canon XA35 camera mounted on a pan/tilt swivel from a tripod base , on which the jib crane was mounted . . The results were excellent. The pan/tilt stabilizer and camera can get a little heavy, so make sure your jib crane is up to the task. The VidPro MH-430 is mostly metal and easy to assemble and disassemble. It comes with a case, but we've opted for the more durable Pelican case instead. because we travel a lot for games. Note. Our team also tested the Bescor pan/tilt gimbal. Although the VidPro was half the price, the Bescor wasn't fast enough or strong enough (mostly plastic) for our needs.
