Review on ๐Ÿ”Š MAYQMAY 35.4 Inch Wood Speaker Stands: Enhanced Audio Listening Experience for Home Theaters (Pair) by Heather May

Decent but not great stands

12 inch stands bought (which don't seem to be stocked right now) but I expect the finish and quality match. I used some yoga blocks but my cat decided he likes to chew on the blocks (he likes soft ones) and this caused my speakers to fall on the floor. So I buy them as they are not that attractive to my cat. However, stalls are more attractive to humans, although I imagine you have to be very hungry to want to chew them. :) They were packed in that super cheap styrofoam that always leaves a mess with little bits being flung all over the place due to static electricity. But the packaging protects them well. Assembly was easy - 8 large screws went into the pre-drilled holes for each stand. Only one of the 16 holes fell off very slightly when tightened, the rest fitted well. I ended up with 4 extra screws and 8 large and 8 smaller felt leg stickers to use on the bottom of the stands. Wood - MDF with wood and leather veneer. They look good enough from a few feet away, but when you get closer than 3 feet or less it becomes pretty obvious that this is a cheap veneer. MDF is definitely better than chipboard and I'm sure if it was solid wood they would be more expensive, but the top/bottom base is also coated that way and I'm a little worried about how well they hold up over time. It honestly seems a bit pricey for the level of quality here, but these were the only stands I could find for my bookshelf speakers for my 12" desk. In the end, both racks were filled with a total of 10 pounds of sandโ€”perfect, really. So I'd rate 5 pounds of sand for 6 inches of height if you're that inclined. pretty big screws. My 4" bookshelf speakers cover the screws well when I place the speaker in the center of the stand.
