Review on Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube: Interactive Musical Toy for Infants and Toddlers by Jordan Epps

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fantastic concept but cheap design and two of these didn't work for me.

This one got a lot of feedback and I love the idea for my daughter. And when we got it, of course she loved it. Although the first cube didn't last long. It started to sound like the almost installed batteries were dead as the music started sounding so creepy slow. No problem! batteries replaced. However, the problem persisted. And then she stopped playing altogether. Looking closer at the toy, I noticed a few cheap design options, especially in this day and age, especially at the $25 price point; That's quite a lot for this product. First, at a time when LED lighting is EVERYWHERE, the multicolored pages share the same dim yellow light. Therefore, the red, yellow, orange, blue, cyan, and green sides look almost the same as if they were colored LEDs glowing at night to match the colored side of the cube. Use what I consider old school and cheaply made MIDI sounds; You know what cell phones were in the 90's. Cost reduction aside, I can't understand why real audio sound files weren't used. However, I watched as my daughter regretfully tried to play with a toy that rarely came to life for even a moment. Long enough to remind me how much she really enjoyed it. So I bought her another one. While he is still playing music, the LED on the blue side of the flute will turn off. That's when I decided a review was in order. For a company like Munchkin, charge $25 for this item. For being so limited in its design. And for it to fail twice, a one-star rating seemed like the most appropriate rating. I recommend parents or donors to look elsewhere for a similar toy but from a different company. Really a bummer; great concept.
