Merrell Hydro Junior 2.0 Unisex-Adult Sandal Review

So far, so good. We just took them out of the box but they fit true to size. Got 10w for my little almost 4 year old. She can easily put them on herself which is great! The quality is good, the design looks practical, they are cute and she seems comfortable. We'll see how well they hold up and hopefully no blistering! Update - I ordered another pair for my 6 year old (13 weeks) and they fit him too. I could probably lengthen them up a size, but they are true to size.

These shoes look great and fit my almost 3 year old well (we are over a size 8). Unfortunately, I noticed the problem with the shoes too late. The seams were frayed where the Velcro straps attached to the boots. Since we were already in the adventure pool when I noticed the defect, we still used it. So I won't try to go back. I think I can sew them myself, but it's frustrating when new things come with problems.

My toddler has normal feet, maybe even smaller (20m and size 5.5). We received them in 6W and they are unwearable. These are too narrow. I cut off the straps, but even then I'm having a hard time attaching the top Velcro. I don't know who designed these shoes and I love the brand but I will never buy children's shoes from them again. Also, the inside of the shoe is stiff, it's just not a kid's shoe and it shows.

My very active 9 year old son has worn them all summer and they are still in great shape. They don't seem to chafe or blister, and the elastic straps and velcro straps hold up great. 10/10 recommend. However, be sure to measure your child's foot and follow the sizing instructions.

My son is athletic and rarely wears anything other than tennis shoes. However, during summer camp he wants a shoe that offers traction yet is good for running in and out of the water or walking wherever his camping adventures take him and this sandal met all of his needs. Last year's sandals still look brand new (his feet just grew so freaking fast) so they definitely wear well. I would say they run a little big, but not so much that you need to go down a size. Finally good shoes for water and land! This shoe was the ONLY hybrid shoe we bought that didn't cause blisters and the kids said it was really comfortable. We tried many shoes including Stride-Rite but they caused blisters. We walked, swam and hiked a lot on our summer family vacation and the shoes were great. They are also very durable and hold up well. I am ordering larger sizes for next year.

I love these best shoes I could buy for active kids. Like the grip on the bottom, that was a big plus. Great foot support and lack of imperfections made the shoes great.

Not the usual Merrell quality. Looks like cheap plastic. The only good thing about this shoe really is the color. He was returned.

I like these shoes but the velcro is not long enough or my son's feet are too wide for these shoes. In any case, it will fall out and the velcro will not stay in place. They fit perfectly in length. They survived the trip to Key West, where the beaches are rough. If your child has wide feet I'm not sure what I would buy.

My son has to use the wide one and it was too hard to put on and close. However, the shoes are very good and I would still recommend them to a child who does not need wide shoes.

The velcro is very small so there isn't much room to adjust. My son could only wear them with the velcro open and just slid around.

(12W) The size can't be bigger. The tongue part of the shoe does not cover the normal foot, let alone the wide foot. The wide ones actually fit like the narrow ones, the rise (height from the arch of the foot to the back of the foot) is very flat. Velcro straps didn't even work, the tongue didn't close the hole. This is a rare FAIL of this brand.

The velcro straps are too short to cover the shoes on my kids feet. I bought these in two sizes for my two sons and when I received them the size was good but the velcro straps were short and barely connected to keep them connected.

They caused my child to have large blisters on the outside of the ankle, just below the bone - my child has rather skinny/small feet so this was a first. May have thought it was an accident the first time and put it back on but blisters appeared within minutes. I didn't feel anything rough, it just has to fit. I would say that they are not very suitable for skinny legs.

My son loved these shoes. We were very happy with the durability and that they didn't irritate or blister. That's my review!

Very nice shoes but my daughter has a high instep and the velcro didn't close and she said they were tight at the top. unfortunately these have to be returned.

It was bought and given to a nine year old boy for his birthday. Upon arrival they seem like the perfect shoe for my very active child. They held up pretty well for the first few weeks of use. Yesterday the boot itself broke where the strap attaches to the boot. My son is very upset because apparently they were the perfect shoe for him.

These were my son's favorite sneakers! He wore them everywhere for almost a year until they broke. They held up very well for a country boy who would do anything in those shoes. I'll definitely buy him a few more.

I had high hopes for these shoes but they are small. I would recommend getting at least two sizes larger than usual. My little boy started getting sores from rubbing his shoes.

This is my second pair of Merrell children's shoes. They fit as expected. This pair definitely looks more croc foam than the other pair I have. The tongue is soft and the sole has a good thickness. I know they will look brand new in a year, just like my other pair. Merrel is worth the money!
