I have both sets - neon yellow and pastel. This review is all about pastels, but if you go for neon yellow you know it glows under blue LEDs, which is a lot of fun. I switched to a pastel set because I needed more brushes. Makeup is about using the right tool for the job. The right brush is crucial to successfully applying makeup and there were a few brushes in this set that I didn't have. I also wanted pastel brushes because of the handles. I wash my brushes after each use and need a stronger grip. The pastel set definitely has handles that stand up to frequent washing! The brushes come in a fun pastel gift box color coordinated with the brushes. Open it up and you'll find each brush individually wrapped. no smell There was no dust. It's okay, but I washed them anyway because I'm so hyperactive. I was immediately struck by how soft these brushes are. It's really nice to run your finger over the biggest yellow brush. I have sensitive skin so I appreciate a soft brush that doesn't irritate or tighten the skin. My brushes usually dry overnight. Not the biggest. They are so thick, fluffy and dense. Pay attention to this when washing. Fluffy takes longer to dry! They are the best when it comes to how the makeup glides off the brushes over the skin. They hold the makeup well, the makeup doesn't spill everywhere and the application feels soft on the skin. I was wondering why they are such high quality at such a low price compared to celebrity endorsed brushes. As my mother says about most things in life, follow the money. When a company doesn't have to pay expensive celebrities or top models, it doesn't have to reimburse those fees either. Then there is no expensive photo shoot on site and expensive staff for this shoot. If no advertisements are placed in magazines or other forms of advertising, this does not constitute exploitation expenses. Celebrities are fun, but I don't want to help anyone pay for the platinum-plated faucets at their seventh beach house. I have to send my kids to college. Five stars for the quality, the softness, the price, the fact that the pens stand up to frequent washing, and the colors.
