This is a very strong paper protector. Yes, it will take away that beautiful shine due to the matte finish. Yes, it's a little rough to the touch, so I'm concerned that it will gradually wear down the apple pencil tip. However, it seems fantastic to draw on. As a result, the mixed paper feels very nice, but is a little rougher. So if you are curious about texture, go to an art store and find this type of paper. I would definitely recommend it, but again, some concerns about use over time. Until then I will 100% keep using it! Edit: After a few months of use, I can confirm that it's wearing down the pen tip. I usually try to be light in my pen strokes, but I still had this problem. Luckily a replacement isn't very expensive and I suppose that happens with any similar screen protector but I'm more consistent on my second tip of 4 months of use. I still love the product. Just a warning to everyone else!
