I chose this particular model after reading numerous reviews of both this and competing products. It looks well built with the cable plugged in all the time and works as advertised with a high speed USB 3.0 connection to the computer (SP3). It had no problem reading my Lexar SDXC U3 cards or others I've tried - CF, SD and TF (Micro-SD). I tried copying an old 223MB folder with various JPG and TIF files from CF to SD card and it worked fine with an average speed of around 1.7MB/s. Copying the same 36 files to a folder on my SP3 was too fast for the transfer rate to count. The only oddity is that the SD cards have to be inserted face down when the label on the reader is facing up, but I think that was the only way to keep the thickness and cost down. I really like that this doesn't immediately claim four drive letters as soon as you plug it in, but only asks for a drive letter as each card is inserted into one of the slots. I had up to three different cards inserted at the same time and they were all correctly identified and displayed, each with their own drive letter.
