All engines are different and I have had a very difficult time finding a kit to fit my 03 VW Passat 1.8T. (large piece) worked great. To be honest, I've tried everything. From the $80 loaner tool at Advanced Auto to the Lisle hammer, none of them fit in the tiny intake space. ) and put it on my grinder and then rubbed with a rag to make it fit. The metal held perfectly and there was "enough room" to install the brackets. It was still very tight, but I was able to tip them in there with some grease and a small pumpkin knife. (Don't ask, it worked.) In short, this tool is simple, elegantly designed to squeeze and hold without having to readjust every valve, and seems like it will last a lifetime .
