This machine was very easy to set up and I only had to double check the instructions to get it all figured out. It seems to have the same performance as the much more expensive Food Saver brand I own and has all the same features. It has a very low profile and small size so it doesn't take up much countertop space or fit in a shallow drawer. It's nice that the 'cutter' sits firmly in the lid so you can easily cut the bag to size before use. The heat seal is solid and after several trial runs the bags have so far stayed completely sealed both in and out of the freezer. It also comes with multiple bag sizes and a hose attachment used to remotely seal bags designed to work through a "vacuum panel" or pre-cut one-way valve in the bag or any storage container with an access port to provide a vacuum Inside. The only downside I see is the locking mechanism that keeps the lid in place when closed. It's the awkward act of pressing down on the lid's front corners and waiting for an audible "click". It feels like a lot of plastic parts are being squeezed together, which doesn't look like it's going to last very long after multiple uses. Maybe their tests proved them wrong, but I have a feeling that this is the only weak link in the entire device that can cause problems while the rest of the machine works perfectly. Overall a good product for the price. Very nicely packaged as a gift.
