Review on Infinity 62IX Coaxial Speaker System by Dominic Kimbro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Mediocre speakers, disgusting tweeters. There are better alternatives for the same price.

Works without an amplifier. about as good as stock. Very absent midbass. Don't buy if you don't have an amp. I'll update my review after installing the amp. Update: Terrible speakers. Big disappointment even after adding an amplifier. I don't know what I expected. While the mid-bass has changed from 2/10 to 5/10, it doesn't make up for the ridiculously disgusting sounding tweeters. The harshest/brightest/grossest sounds come from those silk dome tweeters. Even with my head unit's treble turned all the way down and the MP3 player's EQ turned all the way down, the snare drum on hip-hop songs will make your ears bleed at almost any volume. There's no better way to describe them than full and total treble cannons. As a kind of silly joke, they include 1 single knob on the built-in crossover, a button that can only increase the volume of the tweeter. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who doesn't stick nails in their eardrums every morning at breakfast time. waste of money. The only reason this rating isn't at the lowest 1 star level is that they at least operate at their rated power and certainly can be loud, just in the wrong way.
