Description of Infinity 62IX Coaxial Speaker System

Infinity’s glass fiber woofer cones are lighter and stiffer with more cone-area than the competition , delivering increased low-frequency output and higher efficiency. Edge-driven textile dome tweeters - These are not commonly used W-domes, but edge-driven textile dome speakers that will deliver broader and smoother high frequency response. High output 2.5 ohm ohm architecture with low impedance voice coils enables the speaker to extract every watt from the amplifier and deliver peak power with ease. Infinity speakers have to undergo a testing process that would destroy lesser speakers. Infinity freezes them, bakes them, shakes them, blasts them with ultraviolet light and drives them at full power for days at a time. Infinity is in the business of designing reference quality speakers, and Kappa car audio speakers are no exception.

Harley Install: Car Stereo

Installed in the bat wing of my 2008 street slide, cleaned and loaded. Replaced burnt out Polk speakers. It's nice to have good sound again. Paired with a pair of 6x9 bags and an amp

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some issues

Great for stock head units

They definitely work great, nice highs and a huge improvement over mediocre aftermarket speakers. It sounds great with a standard head unit and doesn't require a lot of power to sound great. I am happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Requires socket

Great, clear sound: Car and vehicle electronics

Love the rich sound. I put her on the second car with the same result. Lots of bass plus good highs. Just buy them with no regrets. The first car I pushed them with a 400 watt amp. This time it's just a regular radio. For a production radio I am very impressed.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Expensive

I put a screw in Chevy

I replaced the speakers in the front doors with these caps and put +3 on the tweeter. I didn't use foam on the speaker. It is best to disconnect or replace the factory tweeters. I replaced mine with a Pioneer 7/8" tweeter and the sound is fantastic all round.

Fits 2015 Ford Mustang V6!

These speakers fit my 2015 Ford Mustang V6 with no problems. No need to modify or drill the door. You do not need any additional brackets. Just use the included brackets that come with the speakers. Even the manufacturer's website says they don't fit, but they fit perfectly! Not suitable for recommended mounts. They are clear with tight bass. However, you need an amplifier to use the full potential of the speaker. But that's not the fault of the speaker. Highly recommended when adding an…

Hear Before You Buy

Speakers are largely a matter of personal preference. I've had Infinity speakers in my cars for the last thirty years and I really liked them. When I recently changed my car, I needed new speakers, but I didn't even think about a different brand. The interior of the car and how they're mounted will affect the sound, but I find these speakers sound different than the previous Infinity Kappas I've had. They are a bit more shy in midbass than we would like. In addition, they have a very low…

Pros
  • Highest Ratings for Support and Durability from Testers
Cons
  • Crumpled

Works without an amplifier. about as good as stock. Very absent midbass. Don't buy if you don't have an amp. I'll update my review after installing the amp. Update: Terrible speakers. Big disappointment even after adding an amplifier. I don't know what I expected. While the mid-bass has changed from 2/10 to 5/10, it doesn't make up for the ridiculously disgusting sounding tweeters. The harshest/brightest/grossest sounds come from those silk dome tweeters. Even with my head unit's treble turned…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are doubts

Not bad - car electronics

Purchased components of the same model. The front components have some strong specs, namely power and 10K more frequency. I just wanted these specs to match the fronts so everything is level. I suspect they don't because they feel they need a selling point for more expensive components. Well compared to some of the rather expensive Pioneers I've had before they really have a lot and utility! The Pioneers cost more and looked just as cool, if not cooler, but were weak in tone and volume even…

Pros
  • Best in niche
