Review on BAYM Branch Connector Coupler Combiner Tools & Equipment by Chris Bhatia

Good MC4 Y-connector but not sure if it's for permanent or mobile/portable use

Socket and #2: 1x Y-connector for 2x plugs. The Y-connector design is strong and sturdy. The connections I tested are also reliable. It works as advertised. There are two typical use cases: #1: You have two weaker solar panels and "connect" them into an MC4 pair with this Y-connector to get stronger power. #2: You have a more powerful solar panel and use a Y-connector to split it into 2 pairs of MC4 connectors to power two power plants, each power plant can only use or limit a limited amount of charging power. When it comes to wearable devices. or mobile use, I haven't found any problems, but I recommend using the "pigtailed" or wired ones, which offer the best "flexibility" in cables and connections. The design of this product appears to be a permanent solution as the entire Y connector is in a single plastic mold and provides a hole for 'installation'. a wooden plank or whatever, it may be subject to "rotation" if you don't have anything extra that can't rotate/rotate it. Another problem that "can" arise is the orientation of the plug caps and socket cutouts, they are all in the same screw direction or perpendicular to the surface. This means that if you just permanently mount/screw it onto the board without lifting/aligning it in the screw area, you're basically hiding/gluing the connectors to the board, making locking/unlocking difficult if not impossible. Socket as the board/permanent mount will not allow you to press the latch. So I'm not quite sure if it's really intended for permanent installation or for mobile/portable use. Be careful with this little design issue. Shape aside, it generally works fine as a Y-connector, performing the function of disconnecting/connecting the connection(s). The price is also very competitive. ($7.58 at the time of writing)
