Horror, Horror, Horror! I asked my son-in-law to put the shelf together for Christmas but he noticed some pretty bad scratches and a few small spots where the laminate had chipped (almost like some other poor guy trying to put it back together!). almost decided to then return it as it seemed almost $40 too much for the inferior product it turned out to be. However, I'm no snob - I've collected many Chinese-made trash shelves (from Walmart, Target, IKEA, etc.) that have served my purposes perfectly - and I finally figured we need to find a place for all the books, which my son received for Christmas and would be too difficult to return. After about thirty minutes of hard work putting the damn thing together this morning (hard because the holes weren't quite pre-drilled and because all the dowels weren't drilled right down the center), I discovered a fatal mistake. In addition, this beautiful piece of furniture was made for the curvature. The bottom two screw holes are offset by at least an inch and a half. There are round notches for the dowels, so there is no way to drill a new hole to fix the error (the dowels are longer to fit the grooves). I'm sending it back but I'm afraid of the hard work of removing screws giving me blisters. The lowest quality product I have ever purchased from Revain.
