Review on Sennheiser CX 2.00G White In-Ear Canal Headset - Limited Availability by Andrea Ellis

My main system consists of a digital preamp, power amp and a pair of ribbon speakers; the overall cost is almost that of a small sedan. The soundstage is so real you can "touch" the performers. For serious headphone use, I use wired AKG or Audio Technica BT. I have several headphones and they are good for watching movies or making phone calls. I have a trip abroad but don't want to take large AKG or AT headphones with me. I have some decent Kiplish, but the mic is out of order. I was looking for a replacement and came across this one. I bought Sennheiser headphones for my wife and she is very happy with them although I haven't tried them myself. I've heard of Sennheiser as a brand, but nothing more. This one is reasonably priced so I bought a few to try. I have to say that I didn't like it at first because it sounded very different from Kiplisch. I found it much darker and more restricted. I let it run for a few hours but don't wear it. Finally in the evening I had a chance to sit down to appreciate it. I tried Kiplich first, and a familiar sound emerged. Then I switched to Sennheiser. It still sounded very different from Kiplisch, but in a good way. It sounded like my main system but through this pair of headphones. The sound is rich, balanced and detailed; Kiplich sounds harsh and subtle in comparison. I will test these headphones in the next few days. So far, so good.
