This thing is really good when it's good, but when it's bad it's terrible. I'll get to that in a moment. First, the size is normal. I'm a grown male with muscular arms and yes I may need to change my grip a bit but it's quite functional. The biggest downside is how easy it is to get confused with this thing. If you don't have constant line tension, your line will slip off the spool in loops and you may not even realize it, and before you know it you have a mystery Mensa's founder couldn't solve. I rewound that thing twice. Maybe not the best choice for an inattentive or clumsy child.
