Review on Cobra Products 88250: Effective 1/4-Inch ๐Ÿ Clearing Drum Auger for Power Drain Cleaning by Bryan Maignan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does the job if you know how and aren't afraid of nasty things, although it's not as easy as you thought it would be

Supposed to clear two clogged drains: one in the sink, one in the washing machine. Took about an hour and totally worked. That's a lot better than calling a plumber, right? Tips: - A clog can be much further down the drain than you thought. I was expecting it to be in a J-socket but it's actually at least 5ft into the wall, for the washing machine I used the full 25ft. - After unscrewing the screw at the top, the cable will be lost for about 2-3 legs, put it in the drain, tighten the screw. Then attach a drill and let the "whole drum" spin. Gently press the cable with your hand to push it down. Then repeat the process. Be ready to pull very unpleasant things from the sewers (mainly hair with dirty things). Have scissors handy to cut them off the cord. - Be patient, I've tried draining the washing machine (all the way in and out) 3 times and it worked in the end. - Don't pull too hard on the end of the if If the cable comes loose from the drum, you may need to open the drum to fix it. I ended up breaking it, since the cables are already dirty I just threw everything away. He accomplished his mission, well done. In fact, you can buy the same product at your local hardware store for the same price if you're in a hurry.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
