Review on Portable Laptops Trio Kickstand + Full Nintendo 14.1", 1920X1080, 60Hz, Anti Glare Screen, Trio Max Combo by Nathan Winnick

Don't worry if you have a charging port on the back of your laptop. Not impressed.

This Mobile Pixels 14' Trio Max gives me mixed reactions. I have a 17 inch laptop that I wanted to use with an additional portable monitor so this really fits. I liked that it had to come with a stand, but the stand is actually pretty. useless and doesn't come close to holding the screen in such a way that it just collapses. I'm not even sure why they bothered. You have to install this on your laptop using metal parts to stick to the back of your monitor area and it doesn't stick and just slides off. They say it has to be pressed against the table during assembly but this Problem is my particular laptop has a charging port on the back instead of the side. If I run out of battery or need to charge while in use, what now? You can kind of leave it on its own, but that's cumbersome and impractical. I had to build my own stand to make this work and stand properly as it's not possible to glue it to the back of my laptop and the other options they provided are useless. It frequently glitches and disconnects during use, and frequently goes back to my home screen, losing everything I've been working on or watching, even if I'm actively using it! It also pauses briefly and bugs my main monitor on my laptop - and it's annoying as hell, TBO. I can't always be productive doing this. I know a lot of smaller and mid-sized laptops have a loading area on the sides, so maybe that works better for them. If you have a gaming laptop or a high-end laptop, stay away from it as it will block all ports on the back and you will not be able to charge your laptop while using it. It still doesn't warrant crashes, which are a huge waste of time, and the price tag is quite high when there are other options for less money. That sounds great in theory, but in practice it's counterproductive to me. I think it works technically, but for me there are far more cons than pros and I'm not interested in wasting time with the luxury of having two screens when my ultimate goal was to multitask and save time save up. It was easy to get it working and all, but overall I'm not impressed. YMMV.

Pros
  • Compatibility with different operating systems makes it easy to connect to different computers.
Cons
  • I will add later
