Durable Self-Tightening Cable Spool

First, let me address an issue that has been raised by a few people and isn't that important. This thing connects via the Smart Life app. Unfortunately, the first attempt to connect via Wi-Fi was not successful at all with most of these Smartlife devices, and this has happened with other such devices that I have purchased. What you have to do is just let it fail and then switch to AP mode, you connect directly to the device and then register it on the network. After that you shouldn't have any more problems. The app enables the cable drum to be pulled in with one click and has separate buttons for switching individual sockets on and off. However, the three outputs show up as separate on/off items in the (Revain) Alexa device list, and the retract feature itself is also its own on/off device. The cable itself is a thick 12 gauge cable that holds up easily. 15A The rating says 1875 watts and I'm inclined to believe it as it had no trouble running table saws, heat guns, car battery conditioners and miter saws. The cable doesn't stick to itself and appears to be 65 feet long, you can find a red ring around the cable when you reach the end. There are four buttons at the end of the reel - three to turn individual outlets on and off (each with a rubber cap for protection) and one to retract the cord reel. Each of these buttons has a tiny LED associated with it that shows if it's on or off. The cable drum itself has two buttons with LEDs on the side - one for WLAN, the other for a roll-up function. The retraction is actually very smooth and it never coiled. Just make sure to aim the heavy end all the way to the end of the feed or it will hit anything in close proximity (be it a car or your face). I don't understand why people complain about LEDs being too bright. . This is not a lightweight cord reel to use in a bedroom or living room (not that I know why anyone would do this). This is something to use in a shop/garage or in the yard where the status LEDs need to be bright. I installed it on the ceiling in the garage, I painted it with 2 stringers and attached it to the ceiling joists. I would like the bracket to detach itself from the spool so you can screw in 4 screws and attach the bracket to the ceiling or wall and then attach to the cable spool. However, it's all connected, so attaching it to the ceiling was a two-person job, or a really challenging one-person massive shoulder workout. However, they provided long drywall anchors (which I didn't use) and long wood screws that fit nicely into the posts after I drilled pilot holes in them. The diagrams I found in the instruction manual provided were fairly self-explanatory, so I didn't find any missing ones. Overall, this is a pretty solid cable reel with some decent nice features. However, I would like to dock a star for the issue I combined with the bracket disconnect. One day the retract button at the end of the cable stopped working - the green light was flashing on and off but it wouldn't actually retract. At the same time, feeding via the app worked just as well as feeding via the button on the side of the reel. I spent two weeks trying to resolve the issue through the manufacturer using the Revain customer service messaging system, but they initially misunderstood the issue and later, after about the third message, stopped responding. A few points are lost that way. However, I ended up unplugging and plugging it back in a few times and the issue seems to be resolved for now.
