
As a true connoisseur of homemade ice cream, not all appliances are created equal. You can get a machine for $20, but if you want super creamy and smooth ice cream you need a quality machine that maintains a consistent temperature and has a reliable and stable mixer. Not to mention that some of them are just plain painful to handle when cold. This is from a brand I've had nothing but good experiences with and fits the bill perfectly. Don't waste your time and money on cheaper cars - although buying crazy cars for $100 or more is just overkill and doesn't add any value - it's just that "gold spot" (pun intended!) in price and value! One more piece of advice - PLEASE never buy these ice cream flavor mixes. They are an ENTIRE waste of time and money. The lightest and most vanilla you will ever have. 2 cups heavy cream and halved (use little fat, you won't taste the difference), 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon real vanilla extract (or scrape off the vanilla stalks!) and you'll be in heaven! Most recipes will tell you to use 2 teaspoons of vanilla, but I love it when that vanilla trips you up! Enjoy!
