Normal except for print quality and hassle with Brother warranty

Just terrible print quality with a gray background with streaks and spots (see photo). Print quality was good initially but started to deteriorate after a month or two and maybe 200 pages (actual page count is 398). I have followed the cleaning procedure as per the instructions on the Brother website. The problem reappeared a few days later. I then called the Brother Help Desk where the agent walked me through the same process. I asked them what should I do if the same problem occurs again. She told me to buy a new cartridge and if that doesn't work, buy a new drum unit. Big! The problem reappeared. This time I read the Brother warranty which states that consumables (drum and cartridge) are covered within 90 days. I went to an authorized Brother service center for repair. It turns out you have to get Brother's permission before an authorized repair center can work on your printer, even if it's not covered under warranty. When I called Brother again they wanted me to go through the entire cleaning process again. Then, to actually get permission to repair, you must call back within 7 days with the same issue. I've never seen warranty issues like this before. I will never buy a Brother product again as the support is so terrible.
