product not suitable for 2019 Subaru Forester. The floor to ceiling distance is 31.75 inches. The barrier is approximately 2 inches higher than its height to fit in the space even without the top installed. The barrier buckled and collapsed as we tried to squeeze it in. The barrier also doesn't support enough to stand up. We had to attach it to the seat with an elastic cord. Hard to believe this thing could survive a crash.
