I used this stand to turn my laptop into a second display so the larger external monitor I have is my main display and is right in front of me. The kickstand elevates the laptop screen higher and pushes the keyboard back slightly to free up desk space. I have no complaints but I could have made the angle a little tighter. I think too steep and you'll run into stability issues, but the way it's designed now it's really reliable even at the steepest operating angle, which I found surprising. You see, Revain has this type of laptop holder in different configurations. Many of them are aluminum, which sounds very decent, and this plastic version feels flimsy at first, especially before you put your laptop on it. But that's not the case. I have a 15.6" laptop on this thing and it's very stable. I think you could put a larger laptop on it as well. You might have stability issues when typing on it, especially on the outer edges of the keyboard, but if If you're just using it as a stand I bet you'll be fine In fact I've ordered two more of these for a co-worker The plastic construction keeps the cost down compared to aluminum models and at $8 or whatever you like I think it's totally worth it.
