I bought these Minnetonka moose skins for driving and also for slippers. I'm a size 16 which is very hard to find, especially such great moccasins. When we live in New Hampshire, we get a lot of snow, freezing rain, freezing temperatures, etc. These elk leather loafers are very warm, yet very soft and stretchy. I sprayed some water repellent leather on it just to add a bit of "wet" protection, but it probably wasn't necessary. Because of the nature of the sole, they don't stretch like regular moccasins. Because I have such large feet, I often have trouble getting winter boots onto the driver's pedal in my car. Hence the need for mocs! Another benefit of the outsole is that I can walk down the driveway to the mailbox even if it's a bit icy due to the ribs. Another point: the plantar ribs are not so close to the sole of the foot that they cause pain. They are actually somewhat supple and provide a massaging effect. I would highly recommend them to others. I have waited well. 3 months to write this to ensure a 'long term' rating.
