Firstly this fan seems to cool my little kid's room but I haven't tried other desk fans either to make sure they are as well Work. I gave this fan 2 stars because I had to return the original fan I bought just a few weeks after the power button stopped working. I would plug it in and turn it on and it wouldn't turn off. It also gives off a strong plastic smell after encountering a problem with the power button. I decided to swap out the fan for another one as it seemed to work and was cooling the room. I opened up a new fan and saw that the controls were mislabeled. The speed and timer labels are swapped. When turning on the fan, the speed setting did not match the actual selection. A low value corresponds to a normal value, an average value corresponds to a maximum value, and a maximum value corresponds to an average value. I haven't tried the timer function to see if there are any issues with it. For the price of this fan I would expect it not to have these issues. The company must have better quality control for this product.
