I originally bought these in 8 ounces. Automobile. It sounded like the right size for a family of five to enjoy movie nights (that's right!). if 8oz. The car arrived, I was disappointed with how small it looked. If you look at the pictures of these popcorn popcorns, the top part will blink. The base dimensions are much smaller than those given. I took a chance and returned the 8 ounce unit (literally left it at Kohl's department store, easiest way to return). And then I switched to this 10 oz machine. I think it's a much more impressive size, and the extra closet space makes it easier to grab. I'll post sizing photos, but it fits easily in my 16" deep closet. I pulled out a large 8 ounce pre-measured bag of Northern tonight and it was the perfect amount for our family. Maybe in the future I'll buy 10- Ounce packs of popcorn for a party Cleaning tip - don't know what the company says about this - but saw this idea in another review Before using my unit I carefully cleaned the small gap between the glass side panels and the metal side sealed with food grade silicone ($5 at Revain. This makes clean up a lot easier. Small bits of casing and popcorn can't get stuck in that tiny gap. I'm very glad we went to the larger machine, overall very impressed with the craftsmanship and the packaging, we love it!
