So my husband and I installed these on our 2021 Tacoma SR because he likes to ride off-road (mainly for hunting) and I opened up yours. box at a great price. We installed it ourselves at a nearby garage that rents out lifts and has pretty much every tool imaginable on hand. If you choose to install them yourself I highly recommend using/renting a bay with a lift if possible, it makes things a lot easier. In the past we have repaired quite a few cars, some of them quite heavy ones. Never upgraded the suspension but replaced worn struts with quick releases. So we were confident going into it, but we're not professionals at all. The documentation on it said it would take 3.5 hours to install, but it took us 7. We worked on it when it was 95 degrees, so maybe it slowed us down a bit. They don't really have a guide, more like a very basic plan, but that was enough for us and all the important details were there. Make sure you have torque specs as they are not listed. I was able to find them on my phone from Chilton's online database (my library offers free access if you sign up with a library card). The front end was more difficult because there was more to remove and of course we had to remove the springs from the old shocks and put them on the new ones. This was a first for us and luckily the workshop we were in had a good quality tool. Make sure you can rely on what you're doing and don't improvise/use a cheap instrument to do this - there's a reason cheap instruments are called widows. Neither front was particularly difficult, just time consuming and a little awkward at times. The back was annoying because you had to cut with an angle grinder. This is hardened steel, it will take time to break through. They give good instructions on how to figure out how much to cut and where. Once the slicing is complete, everything else goes very quickly, but the slicing is slow. Be sure to sand down the sharp edges afterwards to avoid cutting yourself. It doesn't have to be fancy or perfect. Also, the pre-installed alignment tab on the rear shocks is for the upgraded wheels. If you still have the OEM you will need to replace it with the one that comes with the kit. My husband loves the taco's incline, so I set the front to its lowest height (medium or "flat" height is the default). I set the C-pillars to #3, which is the "sporty" setting. The instructions state that you should never adjust any of the tow/traction settings (#1 heavy or #2 moderate) when not towing/towing as it may result in you losing control of the vehicle due to a front lose imbalance. However, it is very easy to convert it to towing/carrying! The spring deflection differs significantly from the series dampers. We haven't taken it off the road yet, but it's a lot more comfortable on the road. I had read that they were great for washboard roads etc which we were basically looking to upgrade - it seemed like the right mix of price and features. So far we're pleased with how much the handling has improved, but I'll update this review if we're not happy with it after putting more miles on the shocks.
