could go wrong! Read my review for advice!

After a few hours of research on Amazon, I came to the conclusion that the ideal heater does not exist. I've seen many reviews, even from highly rated heaters to fried fish and insane temperatures. I received this heater two weeks ago; The heating worked perfectly until two days ago. I have a thermometer to monitor the temperature and at 11:30pm at night I noticed a change in the behavior of my fish as they were very agitated (actually too much). WATCH THE BEHAVIOR OF THE FISH! If you're new to fish buying, fish are sleepy in cold water, they should be fine in 76-80 degrees Fahrenheit, and they can become extra agitated at any higher temperature. I set the heater to 76 degrees Fahrenheit and bought a 25W One for my 3 gallon tank. It has always stayed at 78-80 degrees which is normal. I noticed it was 85 degrees! I then had to stay up until 1:30pm to check my fish were okay; fortunately she is still alive. He should not fail; and it doesn't look like I've had this heater for years. In my opinion the suction is okay and can be slippery but you pay for what you get and it works. I turn the temp down to around 74 degrees and it stays at a good temp of around 78-80 which I like, but it shouldn't be that far off setting. If you decide to buy this keep an eye on your temperature and I recommend buying an alarm clock if the temperature gets too high. Amazon has thermometer alarm clocks for $11. Otherwise the thermometer still works, but since it broke down after installing the alarm and some thermometers around it, I check the temperature regularly. If you decide to buy this, take my advice with more thermometers and maybe consider investing in an alarm! If it's broken, set it lower and it should be the temperature you want. My betta is still happy and healthy.
