1/4" jack does not secure plug well. It falls out with the slightest pressure. I have a 1/4" piezo pickup on my guitar that needs to be changed to a standard 1/4" guitar cable. The piezo pickup grips tightly on the 1/8" plug, but any movement of the end of the guitar cable and the plug immediately slips out. Most good quality guitar cables are pretty strong, so it's a guaranteed disaster. If I'm going to use it live I'll have to use black tape to tie the 1/4" joint securely together before venturing out on stage.
