This is my first hammock without a strut, although I have two large rope hammocks (with wooden struts) and one portable folding hammock (aluminum strut). easy to set up. It's definitely comfortable, although it gives a different hammock experience than I'm used to being wrapped up in a hammock as you can't really see unless you like the hammock rubbing your armpits. One of the arguments for wrapping yourself in it is that it's great at blocking light when you're sleeping on a sunny day. I haven't tried it with two people, but it's possible with the width of the hammock, although maybe a bit narrow. Only time will tell how long it lasts but judging by the look and feel of the material you shouldn't leave it in the sun to protect the UV rays from degrading. It's also not a rip-stop material, so if a tear starts anywhere, it'll keep tearing until it reaches the next seam.
