I bought older versions (USB 2.0) of Apricorn Aegis Secure Key in 2017 and 2016, keep all my accounts, passwords, scanned documents and all important files on these on USB sticks and so far they have proven to be absolutely reliable. Both devices still work great with the included batteries; However, given the importance of the data I store on it and the amount I use it, I decided to buy the third one as a backup, which I received on December 22, 2020. The new version (USB 3.0), NX, dongles seem much more responsive than the old version; However, I have complaints about the new version. I don't like LEDs for several reasons. The old version used a blue LED at the base of the flash drive that flashed brightly when plugged into a USB port to indicate it was charging, easy to see. The new one uses a red LED, which is very small, making it difficult to see unless you're holding it in your hand. This isn't an obstacle, of course, but it's a minor inconvenience as you simply can't look across the room to see if the device has finished charging. Also, a flashing red light is usually associated with a glitch or error, so I think they fixed it the first time with a blue LED placed on the device where it was always easy to see. be reliable and only time will tell if this new and faster version will be as reliable as the old one.
