Review on Scientific Containers for Mini Vortex Mixing by Michael Powell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Efficient mixer with at least 1 year warranty

This vortex mixer has proven very effective for the use I bought it for: mixing small doses of liquid or semi-liquid paint quickly and thoroughly. In particular Reaper MSP inks, Vallejo GameColor inks, GreenStuffWorld Fluor, Secret Weapon, Army Painter, MIG, AK Interactive inks, Games Workshop contrast inks and in general all kinds of thinners and inks mix very well. The only caveat was with thicker paints: non-standard products like Vallejo Model Color dropper bottles and Games Workshop metal cans (like Leadbelcher) were too viscous to mix effectively. The device is heavy enough and the three-legged design with rubber feet is stable enough to allow movement or drifting while the blender is running on the tabletop. The noise during operation is quiet but not loud. Quality Assurance: My mini vortex mixer died after a little over 11 months due to an internal mechanical failure that caused it to stop spinning/stirring even though the power supply was still working and the top touch switch was still working. To their credit, 4E's Scientific has been really supportive. They were communicative when the issue was reported via Revain and quickly provided a warranty replacement after receiving video of the fault. ) of the miniature paints I use it with and the guarantee that the 4Es will match. If a warranty-replaced blender fails, the rating goes down, but it's a great blender as long as it works properly.
