We only buy these very expensive drinks for convenience. We're all busy. It's extremely convenient to just open a bottle and have a drink for a quick refill. I say all of this to highlight the key competitive advantage Soylent needs to remember what it's striving for. Packaging and convenience are just as important as the drink itself. I downed half of my smoothie this morning and packed the rest in my briefcase along with some scrubs and a computer. When I got to work, the bottle exploded all over my stuff. "You shouldn't have trusted the bottle." Looking back, I agree. But also - why the hell not? This is literally the place to buy these resealable bottles. I can make a nutritious smoothie with ingredients for about $0.20, but I pay $3 a pop to sip all day. The company has decided to skimp on the packaging of its bottles to save pennies, and we as consumers are suffering as a result. Nobody thinks twice before putting a water bottle or Gatorade in their gym bag. It costs three times as much and is made of joke material. I would not recommend this brand until they learn how to make a competitive product. For the record, I've tried several other brands of protein drinks and have never had a problem with popped bottles. Good luck everyone, and I hope you don't have to spend a day replacing your laptop like I did.
