Review on Mr. Heater F242655 MH30TS Dual Tank Top Outdoor Heater, 8000-30000 BTU/h by Kassandra Harris

Not pretty, but works very well.

This thing works great. I have used this specifically for extra heating when camping and/or when they have fire restrictions. It only gives off quite a bit of heat at low levels. In fact, we didn't use anything other than low since it seemed almost absurd to use anything above that. On the low end I was able to use it about 3 hours a day for 3.5 nights with a 3/4 full tank. I estimate you can go a full 4 nights on a full 20lb tank if you use both heaters. If you decide to use one I expect to double the time. If you're using this in a fixed location, it won't be a problem for the heater. If you use them in portable situations like RV or remote places, keep the box for easy shipping as many parts and cables can't be transported well. In terms of usability, it's very simple. Work. Turn on the tank, turn the regulator knob to minimum, squeeze the primer (one for each heater head), squeeze the igniter. Turning it off is just as easy, turn off the regulator and then turn off the tank. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works fantastic. I would recommend. I was also concerned about how heat radiates across the device. In particular, I can use this under a vinyl roof or similar. Short answer. At a low level, the heat above the heating elements is hardly noticeable. The heads radiate heat directly forward about 4-5 feet and beyond, depending on the level used. I don't think I noticed enough heat to damage anything 5ft above the unit outdoors (not in an enclosed space or building). That being said, I wouldn't recommend it unless it's going to be used outdoors and you keep a close eye on it. Read: Do not leave unattended. Use common sense. I would recommend.
