I set up this rack as shown in the picture and as many reviews say the bikes are very loose and difficult to keep stable. I then flipped the post and moved it back so that it wrapped around the hoop between the edge of the carrier basket and the post itself, deciding to place the front hoop in the slot I created. With this setup, the front tire of any bike I put in the kickstand will be supported by the back of that tire, otherwise the kickstand is about 12-15 inches from the end of the hitch bracket and faces inwards rather than outwards/tilting Im Photo. Only works if your bike doesn't have mudguards. You need to add brackets that fix the bike straight down or pull the bike's front wheel into the rack. Also consider what type of sunroof or opening your vehicle has, as installing a trunk in this location may restrict your sunroof. My hitch holder allows me to adjust how far the basket is from the hitch, so I moved it about 4 inches from the car and it worked.
