First time I used the crossbars with kayaks after having them installed on my vehicle for a month or so. While I was transporting my kayaks (total weight 106 lbs between the two kayaks), one of the crossbars brackets that hooks on to the rail snapped going about 35 mph. I purchased these bars for my 2019 Kona and I could not get them to install with a tight fit. I took them to a mechanic that installed them and they felt better than when I installed them. The design is flawed. There is nothing to secure them to the rails. The inner adjustable "grasp” is flat and has no ridge to grasp on to the rail. I should have turned them. I bought this product at the end of May 2021 to use for my road trip in June. We used it for about 2 weeks, and when we got back home we removed it to inspect and clean the car only to discover that the poor quality of the rubber at the end of the bar had scratched up our roof rail quite badly. Reading reviews it kind of scared me to put my kayak on the crossbars when someone stated that they lost theirs and scratched the car. I think it was user error. If you do not install them exactly how the instructions state to, you may have problems. It is very important to know that one bar is bigger then the other. The long bar goes on the front and the short bar goes in the back. Once you install them, do not put anything on it for a week because they will break in and loosen up. So keep…

It was really easy to install, the instructions was crystal clear. Feels really firm and looks very durable. It does "whistle” when you get to a certain speed. Other than that, it looks definitely amazing on my car. I’ve did my research, some cost 400 some cost 300. This product was just spot on, with great reviews.

Rack arrived on time and installed easily. Seems sturdy however two of the locking covers are defective have tried several times now to contact seller with no luck. Best Buy directs me to their site to contact them and the supplier site doesn’t provide a way to leave them a message.If I hear back and have a resolution I’ll redo my review with a positive rating. I bought these to go on my wife’s 2018 Hyundai Kona to be able to strap a kayak onto her car. These are simple, but look almost as nice as the Thule Aero bars on my Volkswagen. The cross bars are sturdy, lightweight and aerodynamic. The installation was simple and fast. I have no concerns about stability / structural integrity. Overall, these are solid crossbars. The instructions were basically worthless as were the instruction videos. The item is not hard to figure out with a couple of important caveats. So hopefully this information helps.First. These bars are shaped like a planes wing. That is intentional, they need to be mounted in the same way, thicker rounded edge towards the front of the vehicle. Doing this gets rid of almost 99% of the noise problems. I ended up returning them. the price sounded good and the pics make it look like it will be a perfect fit, but unfortunately it was not. they are very generic and you will find the same cross bars for sale if you select another type of vehicle. they felt somewhat cheap and not very solid. i suggest paying up a little more for a better brand/fit.

The crossbars are sturdy in regards to attaching a kayak rack or anything like that! Fairly easy to install, but I’m pretty mechanically inclined, so I don’t think it would be as easy for others. Top rubber strip was damaged (see photo). Plastic end caps are very cheaply made, didn’t lock easily, shakes when put on, doesn’t cover everything completely (see photo) and are not very durable. An okay purchase for the money, I suppose. The rails were perfect. Easy to install following instructions and tips from the comments. Very sturdy so far. Minimal noise.. Installation was a bit tricky but once I figured that out they went on like a breeze.

These are great! I have been using these on my Kona for several months now and they function well holding my roof basket in place no matter how much luggage we stack for our road trips.

No matter how much I tried, I could only get one side to fit securely. The other side would have a huge space over the rail so it would not "clamp" on. Returned without an issue.
