First, I want to express my sympathy to those who buy these pants, you probably also have a wild 7-8 year old boy wearing pants school uniform. regularly. At first glance I thought they had a lot of potential, the material seems more durable than other brands of school pants I've bought in the past. My son even commented on how smart they looked, I think he loved the back pockets. but: size 7 is probably closer to size 8, at least in the waist. Even after we tightened the inner elastics to the hilt, my son still complained that the pants were too loose. (I have another brand where a size 8 fits well, although they are a bit long.) - There are two external straps ("adjustable pulls") that are designed to tighten the pants around the waist. Certainly they were less than useless to my son who is a solid size 7 on at least two other brands. They don't tighten strongly at all, and even when tightened, they don't hold the tension and immediately loosen. Basically they will get in the way of the belt and I will probably cut them off if/when we use one. If they could hold the tension I might see them in place of a belt but as they stand they are useless. Conclusion: These pants might come in handy if I can find his belt, but the sizing seems rather "Hefty" (length is ok, waist is too big) with very little adjustment. My son is about 4 feet 4 inches and 54 pounds.
