I believe my store was built by the previous owner of our home in the early 1990's. After I replaced all the fluorescent lights, the lights started going out one by one. If I hadn't just replaced all the bulbs, I would have switched to LED, but with 10 bulbs that's too expensive for me now. Even replacing all the lights with bulbs of comparable quality costs more than $500. Just replacing the ballast was a really economical option and less wasteful - I don't want them to end up in landfill when everything else is fine. They weren't quite as constructed as the old ones but it's not hard to figure out, just attach the color wire you want with nuts and some electrical wire around it to be safe and reinstall the light. So far, so good. Added bonus, I impressed my husband with this solution ;-)
