This worked for me! on Electric

My problem was that the light just flickered when turned on. I've tried swapping out fluorescent lights and it's still flickering. I bought this and replaced a 20 year old Advance Mark III R-2S40-1-P ballast with two fluorescent tubes. I cut eight wires a few inches from the old ballast and took it out. I made sure the length of this ballast is the same (9.5 inches) and it fits the old one perfectly with no modifications. It had the same eight colored wires (2 blue, 2 red, 2 yellow, 1 black, 1…

Good replacement for Advance RQM-2S40-3-TP

I had to replace an Advance RQM-2S40-3-TP which is no longer made by Advance. After some searching I came across Universal Lighting. Technologies B234SR120M-A000I Electronic Ballast Fluorescent T12 2 Lamp 120V I wasn't sure if this would work as a replacement. Based on a person's review (or maybe their answer to the question) the person wanted to do the exact same thing I did and said it worked. I received the product, installed it and voila, everything worked! I've ordered 3 more because I…

Great upgrade! best in ballasts

Lately our bedroom closet 4ft 40w with 2 bulbs is taking a long time to turn on, sometimes a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes but over the last few weeks it has been getting worse and worse. I tried changing the bulbs but that didn't help. Then I decided it must be ballast. After I found out that my original Universal 446-L-SLH-TC-P was no longer made, I offered to replace it. I cut the original yellow, blue and red wires next to the original ballast to allow enough slack to connect them to

low cost and less waste

I believe my store was built by the previous owner of our home in the early 1990's. After I replaced all the fluorescent lights, the lights started going out one by one. If I hadn't just replaced all the bulbs, I would have switched to LED, but with 10 bulbs that's too expensive for me now. Even replacing all the lights with bulbs of comparable quality costs more than $500. Just replacing the ballast was a really economical option and less wasteful - I don't want them to end up in landfill when

Replaces the generic MagneTek 439-L-TC-P. Works perfectly!

Just installed this new ballast. I replaced a 20 year old ballast that died last week. The exchange process was very easy. I simply split and twisted all the wires in the correct colors: 2 red to 2 red, 2 blue to 2 blue, 2 yellow to 2 yellow, black to black, and white to white. I replaced the ballast on a Universal MagneTek 439-L-TC-P. The photo shows the old and the new ballast. The old one weighed 3 kg. 1 oz and new only 14 oz. Hopefully that just means the technology has gotten better, but I

Exact length but you will need 8 wire nuts.

Same length but much lighter and narrower. In my case, one end went into multiple slots while the other end was held in place with a nut and bolt. I loosened a screw and this one, which was the same length, snapped into place. HOWEVER the wires are not long enough to reach the Tombstone connectors. So the next step is to cut the color coded wires and reset the color to color. There are two of each color: it doesn't matter which is the same color, connect one yellow wire to the yellow wire, then

Update 6th January 2021 After researching the FEIT website I found a ballast compatibility chart which states that my LED bulbs are compatible with this ballast. Tried it again with LED bulbs. Still does not work. I tried swapping the ends of a lightbulb, it didn't help. I tried changing the bulbs and it worked. At least I think it was consistent since I didn't write down what I did. Regardless, everything worked out in the end. So changed from 2 to 5 stars. So make sure you try all the…
