Review on Koh I Noor Progresso Woodless Graphite Pencils by Nicole Mcleod

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Really prickly feeling

Received these today and tried them. Starting with HB, it was very inconvenient to use for writing. 2b is slightly scratched from shading and writing. 4b appears smooth most of the time, with occasional shading and writing scratches. 6b is mostly smooth but sometimes feels scratchy like it has some harder graphite in it and 8b feels spiky like 6b but sometimes even harder. The watercolor was a little scratched when shading, but wrote fluently, without scratches. In general, softs felt like they had bits of hard graphite inside them. I have a Brevillier that I am more than happy with. I think I'll sharpen them and see how I feel about them. Maybe it's the way they've been sharpened that makes them so spiky.
