I bought both the clear and black bars to compare and I have to say the black bars are pretty mediocre. They're not terrible pads, but they're not great either. I use them on polished discs and even the black pads squeak. The rim surface is clean and I have tried mounting them both flat on the rim and on the toe pads and they just squeak. Clear pads sound like a banshee with a herniated disc. They're loud and don't stop much better than other pads I've used. I finally found pads that work. I chose the gray Diamondback Softpads. Much better and half the price.
