Not charging: Walkie-Talkies

I've been charging mine for almost 48 hours now and they still won't turn on when unplugged. They also have fresh batteries. Full charge time is 12 hours so I plugged them in and left them for 24, almost 48 hours and they still won't turn on. Both would turn off the red charging light, indicating that it should be charged. Complete waste of my money.
